Ghost Recon Frontline offers a unique and advanced class system, allowing players to upgrade and customize each contractor to fit their strategy. Additional modes will also be available at launch. When initiated, all teams will know the position of the extraction and will try to intervene, players will have to play tactically to successfully escape and win the match. Once players are done collecting intel, they will have to head to a drop zone and call for an extraction. Featuring more than 100 players in teams of three, these squads will have to work together to complete dynamic objectives across the massive open map with no converging circle. Expedition, the game’s flagship mode, offers a new take on the battle royale genre. The game features a large set of tactical support tools, offering players complete freedom in strategic gameplay throughout various game modes.

The shooter is being developed by Ubisoft Bucharest, who worked on both Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. You’ll apparently also be able to switch between these contractors at will as it suits your needs. These include the Assault Class for close range combat, the Support Class with fortification skills and the Scout Class for recon. Players will also get to choose a class for their contractor, with three available from the off. We’re promised a “new take on the battle royale genre” with dynamic objectives and no converging circle. But not before every other squad tries to stop them. Once there, they’ll complete objectives, collect intel and then try and head to an extraction point to escape. Players will be dropped in squads of three onto a location known as Drakemoor island. The game was formally revealed towards the end of yesterday’s Ghost Recon 20th anniversary showcase, as previously teased. Ubisoft has announced Ghost Recon Frontline, a 100-player free-to-play shooter set in the Tom Clancy’s universe heading to consoles and PC.
